Who are you and what do you do?
I’m David Verjano, a Miami native and first-generation American born to Cuban parents. While formal titles aren’t my thing, I specialize in transforming creative chaos into brand clarity. Essentially, I design brands, visualize compelling ideas, and bridge creative concepts with business outcomes.
What’s something we don’t know about you?
I stopped applying for traditional jobs at 24 and haven’t looked back. Since 2013, I’ve thrived independently as a freelancer, entrepreneur, and collaborator within the advertising and creative space.
What inspires or motivates you to get out of bed?
Creating fuels me. With endless sources of inspiration and powerful creative tools available today, there’s always something new to bring into the world. Becoming a father has amplified this drive, motivating me to lead by example and be a strong role model for my son.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Design. There’s something incredibly satisfying about distilling an idea into a sketch and evolving it into a graphic, a video, or even an immersive experience. The ability to transform concepts into tangible outcomes is deeply fulfilling and essential to who I am.
Where do your brightest ideas come from?
Experience and curiosity. Nothing beats the depth that lived experiences provide, especially when paired with a curious mindset that always digs deeper. That intersection is where the magic truly happens.
How do you spark your creativity when you’re feeling in a rut?
I take a trip—whether it’s exploring another country or simply visiting a local bookstore. Changing my environment and breaking routine is my favorite strategy for reigniting creativity.
Where is your favorite place to decompress & unwind?
The basketball court. Whether I’m casually shooting around or competing in a pickup game, basketball allows me to disconnect from daily pressures. Even when it gets competitive, it remains my go-to outlet for channeling stress into something positive and active.
When do you feel your best, and what do you do to stay in good vibrations?
I feel my best when I’m active, engaged in quality family time, or deeply immersed in focused creative work. A solid workout, playful moments with my nephews and nieces, or diving into late-night projects without distractions—these experiences energize me, boost my serotonin levels, and keep the positive momentum flowing.
