Teresa Xu / Xu Collective.
Tell us a little about what you do.
I’m business owner with an interior design & procurement background. I started my furniture company XU Collective in 2020, our mission is to fill the gap between ideas and production, to create a platform for creatives to create truly custom furniture that’s meaningful for their space.
What inspires/motivates you to get out of bed?
Connecting people from the world of design and the world of craftsmanship is what makes the magic happen. That’s what we do everyday, and what gets me excited to get up every single day.
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
Coffee, coffee and coffee. 🙂
Where do your brightest ideas come from?
Collaborations with designers, business owners, and visionaries.
Where is your favorite place to decompress & unwind?
Sunset at the beach. Nothing beats a gorgeous sunset over the ocean.
When do you feel your best, and what do you do to stay in the vibration?
I feel my best in the morning, I get my coffee and I work on the priorities for the day. When things gets challenging, a deep breath and practicing gratitude instantly puts me into a higher vibrational state.
Why did you choose Ampersand Studios as your workspace?
The glance of the glowing bar on the first floor is what win me over to choose to work here. The friendliness and ease working environmental is making me want to stay here.
Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I live just a couple of blocks away from Ampersand Studio, with my three-year-old daughter. We take walks around here sometimes and that’s how I found out about this building.
