Some careers start with a plan. Others start with a turning point. For Channing Moreland, that moment arrived when a lifelong violinist discovered her true passion wasn’t on the stage but behind it, championing the artists who bring events to life.
Today, as co-founder of EVA, she’s building pathways that help creators earn, grow, and thrive.
Her perspective is candid, grounded, and full of insight, and it’s worth diving into.
Who are you and what do you do?
Hi! My name is Channing, and I am a co-founder of EVA, a vetted marketplace that supports entertainers and speakers by streamlining well paid booking opportunities at corporate and private events.
What’s something we don’t know about you?
I grew up playing classical violin. I thought that’s what I was going to do with my future but then I started writing songs and unexpectedly applied to the songwriting program in Nashville. Moving to Nashville gave me the opportunity to learn about the industry and that my true passion was supporting artists and creators through live events.
What inspires or motivates you to get out of bed?
I am inspired by the incredible talent that creators bring to events, and I want to continue finding the best paid opportunities for them to help bring an additional revenue stream to their career. I am also inspired by our amazing team at EVA and motivated to continue building with them.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
My chapstick! As much as I do not want to be this dependent, I have tried almost everything, ha. All jokes aside, family, friends and my dog, June.
Where do your brightest ideas come from?
When I am traveling and have some quiet time in my Airbnb or hotel ahead of an event. Either before or after, I will have a few hours of down time and that’s when I have my best ideas.
How do you spark your creativity when you’re feeling in a rut?
I listen to a new artist, help an artist think through their production / or a project of theirs that’s more on the creative side, do a brainstorm session for someone else, or get outside with my dog. I did The Artist’s Way a few years back when I was in a creative rut and it gave me so many tools to use. I cannot recommend it enough!
Where is your favorite place to decompress & unwind?
Anywhere outside! I love being in nature and find that I need at least an hour outside a day to feel grounded.
When do you feel your best, and what do you do to stay in good vibrations?
My needs have changed a lot over the years and now I know in order to feel my best, I need my sleep (at least eight hours as much as I have tried to get by with less), my morning tea, time to meditate and journal, and get outside. All in all, those are very simple things I have found that continue to set me up for success, so I try to make sure to at least do those things.
Why did you choose Ampersand Studios as your workspace?
I love that Ampersand Studios is built for creatives and entrepreneurs which is truly my community. It’s rare you find a space focused wholly on artists and founders and I love that’s the case!
