At Ampersand Studio, we ran a bit of a litmus test, where we observed what going digital meant in the immediate and in the long run. From Zoom meetings to new hire interviews, we considered it all. Start with the right laptop – the Apple Macbook Pro 13” is an allaround powerhouse for the size. From starting a podcast, to a crisp video conference, it does it all.
The right mic.
Keeping things light and portable, we suggest the Rode NT-USB Mini USB Microphone. It’s the definition of plug-and-play. Headphones connect directly into them, and register in the Macbook for the audio output. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s beautifully designed, as far as compact mics go.

Now, to tune in without distraction, Bose made a set of noise cancelling headphones that can be wired or wireless. The 700 model is the best in class, price and quality.
The right background.
As for your background, we thought of that thoroughly and took it upon ourselves to create real life wallpapers in our studio spaces. From the artwork on the walls, to the decor in our common spaces. If that isn’t what you’re looking for, our thoughtfully designed corners are perfect background settings for content shoots, and conference calls alike. We also have custom phone booths that are lit to set a calming private mood.
