&MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Brittnie Giles / Sandra Britt Interiors

Brittnie Giles. Tell us a little about what you do.

As an interior designer, most would think I play with fabrics and furniture all day, but my reality is a constant stream of problem solving. I plan how my clients will live within their homes, I figure out ways to simplify their daily tasks and how to functionally hide the mess that comes with it; all while making the end result feel as if you have just walked into a five-star luxury hotel. The best part of my job is that it is completely sculpted around the person and place I am designing for. Each project is different allowing me to continuously exercise my creativity in new and fresh ways.

What inspires/motivates you to get out of bed?
My team! I’m lucky to have incredibly hard-working, talented employees that love what they do just as much as I do.

What is the one thing you can’t live without?
Our Sonos office speaker. Nothing makes me more anxious than a quiet room!

Where do your brightest ideas come from?
I am always inspired by my travels. I visit as many hotels and restaurants as possible and fill my iPhone with detail shots covering every inch of the spaces. Hospitality design is a visual experience packed with thoughtful floor plans optimizing every nook and cranny. If I’m ever stuck during space planning, I refer to these spaces for inspiration.

Where is your favorite place to decompress & unwind?
My happy place will always be in a gorgeous spa with a glass of champagne in hand.

When do you feel your best, and what do you do to stay in the vibration?
Right after a client reveal. We spend months, even years designing every inch of these homes. Seeing our client’s reaction after our hard work has come to fruition makes it worth the long hours and tough days. There is no better feeling.

Why did you choose Ampersand Studios as your workspace?
I think as humans we all feed off one another’s energy so being surrounded by likeminded creatives is inspiring. There is a constant buzz when you walk in Ampersand Studios. Everyone is hustling, there are always interesting events and shoots happening and have you seen the design of the first floor?!

I may be biased seeing as my team and I designed it but show me a cooler co-working space in Miami! I’ll wait.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I can eat a dozen doughnuts in one sitting without hesitation.

Thank you.

We’d like to thank Brittnie for letting us get to know her a little better! You can see her work here, and experience it first hand right at Ampersand Studios.
