Ampersand Studios Nashville Members and the team at Stormlight Pictures will be producing the Nashville 2024 48 HR Film Project

Their passion for storytelling and community (both personally and professionally) makes this an exciting endeavor that they are eager to continue to foster and build upon. To celebrate, the Stormlight team hosted a mixer at Ampersand Studios to kick off the 2024 Nashville 48hr Film Project registration. In addition to snacks and drinks, the event featured a panel of local 48 filmmakers discussing their experiences with the festival and answering your questions. The night came together with insights from industry experts, including:

  • Tyler Weisenauer | Director, Actor, and Sound Professional here in Nashville and Directed the 2023 winning film Lord’s of Fruit Town, which not only won an award at Filmapalooza in Lisbon, Portugal, but also screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival!
  • Motke Dapp | Writer/director specializing in high-fiving actors, drinking fancy drinks, and sleight of hand filmmaking. He’s handcrafted, along with other amazing filmmakers, a plethora of whimsical, award-winning short films and as well as a couple of feature films. Motke has won the 48 Hour Film Project five times in two cities between 2007 and 2017, and he thinks fondly of the 48 whenever he can – usually on Saturdays.
  • Nichole Marie Lim | With over 15 years of experience as a multi-hyphenate in the film industry, she is fueled by her passion for characters. While the majority of her career has been dedicated to the makeup department, where she has excelled as Key Makeup Artist, she has now expanded her repertoire to include Producing, Writing and Directing. Drawing from her extensive time as an active observer on multimillion-dollar sets, working alongside seasoned professionals, as well as her unique and intimate interactions with both A-list and indie actors, she brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to these new roles. Renowned for her creative problem-solving abilities, she is often hailed as the unofficial therapist on set. Her work delves deep into the intricacies of human relationships, exploring themes of dark versus light, joy versus fear, and the dark humor that accompanies the pursuit of balance.
  • Dusty Dale Barker | Native of the Missouri Ozarks, an accomplished figure in the world of film and photography. With his versatile creative talents as a filmmaker, photographer, and actor, Dusty has made a lasting impact in multiple artistic realms, showcasing his unwavering dedication to storytelling. In 2021, Dusty’s debut script and short film secured an astounding victory in the Nashville 48 Hour Film Competition, becoming an official selection at the Nashville Film Festival. Continuing his winning streak, Dusty emerged triumphant in the Nashville 48 Hour Film Competition once again in 2022, solidifying his status as a rising talent with a distinct creative vision.
