group 260

This month’s Miami &Member Spotlight features the founder of SentiCon Security, John Masserini. Aside from years experience in the cybersecurity space, John is a huge foodie and wine connoisseur. and shares a bit about how he stays inspired in this technical space. Let’s get right into it.

Who are you and what do you do?

I am the founder of SentiCon Security, a boutique cybersecurity consulting firm based here in Miami. As a veteran of the cyber-security industry, I have held executive leadership positions in enterprises within the finance, publishing, and telecommunications industries. Additionally, I am the founder of the Miami Security Supper Club, an exclusive networking technology and security networking group whose mission is to create an unparalleled environment where distinguished leaders converge, fostering meaningful connections and igniting intellectual conversations over exceptional cuisine.

What’s something we don’t know about you?

I am a passionate enophile, whose vacations are planned around the great wine destinations of the world. Starting my career in central NJ, I spent a significant amount of time between Manhattan and Philadelphia, learning early on the value and importance of great food and even better wine.

What inspires or motivates you to get out of bed?

I consider myself truly blessed to have found a career that I truly love. Whether I am assisting a Fortune-100 enterprise recover from ransomware, or helping a family business secure their networks, or mentoring those who want to get into the industry, I wake up every morning with the resolute purpose that I am making a difference.

What is one thing you can’t live without?

Exceptional food and wine. The culinary adventure I have been on since moving to Miami six years ago has been remarkable, and is one of the reasons I started the Supper Club.

Where do your brightest ideas come from?

Typically from meditation. I began meditating to manage the stress of being a CISO, but I have since made it a standard part of my daily life.

How do you spark your creativity when you’re feeling in a rut?

Change of settings and getting out of the home office. In fact, this is one of the reasons Ampersand appealed to me over other office spaces. I loved the creativity of the space.

Where is your favorite place to decompress & unwind?

My balcony overlooks Biscayne Bay and I usually find myself sitting there at the end of the day, with a glass of wine and just enjoying the view.

When do you feel your best, and what do you do to stay in good vibrations?

The mornings are my favorite time of the day. Watching the sunrise over the bay truly sets the tone for the day, and I always try to associate with those I admire, respect, and have similar vibes.

Why did you choose Ampersand Studios as your workspace?

The atmosphere mainly, but the proximity to home was also key. I love the creativity of the space and how it gets me to think differently.
