How to turn one piece content into a whole strategy.
Long gone are the days of Henry Ford’s factory line system. Each person doing one small task all day every day, building up to something greater. These days, everyone is everything. From small businesses to entrepreneurs: it doesn’t matter what you do: we’re all content creators now.
And it can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.
By leveraging batch creating and the right tools, let us show you how to get one week’s worth of social media posts from one piece of content.
Create a long form piece of content.
This step is admittedly difficult. Especially if you’ve never done it before. You’ll need the right tools, setting, and message to create effective content. We’re looking for 2-15 minutes worth of gold, minimum, to build the rest of your week off of. You can script, film, and edit all on your own; or hire a team to help you. Alternatively, maybe you’ve been asked to give a Zoom presentation or host a virtual workshop. Maybe you’re being interviewed on a podcast. All these things are actually: long form content.
Transcribe and write.
Ok, we have our long format video. Now what?
First, let’s break it down. We’re going to want a full audio to text transcription of the video to work from. Your ideas are already there, we just need to highlight and refine them into engaging and readable content.
There’s many different ways to get your video transcribed. One hack is to use the Voice Typing feature in Google Docs. Play the video and let the Google AI do its best. You can also use Maestra Suite or Otter for more premium features like synced audio playback and auto time stamping.
Are these tools perfect? Absolutely not. You’ll still need to go back, review the work and make edits where necessary. But it’ll give you a strong starting point and save you a lot of time you would have otherwise spent listening, re-listening, and typing every word yourself.
Once you have a solid working script, go back and highlight the main points and quotable moments. From this, your aim is to distill and expand this script into:
(1x) Blog Post
(1x) Newsletter
(3x) Quotes
(5x) Social Media Captions
Create the visual pieces.
We’re on a mission to work smarter, not harder.
That’s why we suggest going back to the original video and pulling key frames (screenshots) for your visual components. 3-5 good stills will get you a long way. You can also go back and pull 30 second – 1 minute video segments to create Tik Toks, Reels, posts, or supplemental short format YouTube content.
Bring it all together.
Now that we have the written and visual components laid out, we need to bring them all together to create the finished posts. We recommend using Tailwind to create, manage, and schedule your posts. Currently, plans range from $0-40/month, well worth the time it’ll save you.
With Tailwind, you can pre-set your brand logos, fonts, and colors, upload an image, add your caption, and instantly get multiple branded posts generated and optimized for each social media platform.
Distribute on all platforms.
The trick here is to schedule out all your posts in advance so you can set it and forget it. Use your known metrics to determine the best times to post to maximize audience engagement. Tailwind has excellent features to help you find the right hashtags, optimized auto scheduling, and analytics to help track your engagement and fine tune your content strategy.
Example Content Strategy
(1x) Long Format YouTube Video + Caption (leading back to blog post)
(1x) Blog Post with Integrated Long Format Video (blog leads to YouTube Channel)
(1x) Newsletter (leading to blog)
(5x) IG/FB Stories (quotes, clips, stills)
(3x) IG/FB Posts (quotes, clips, stills)
(2x) TikTok’s / Reels (quotes, clips, stills)
And there you have it! An entire week’s worth of content generated from just one video.
Now you can go back to doing what you really love to do: running your business.
