Design Your Future, One Pin at a Time

Whether you’re looking to set intentions for the new year, focus your creative energy, or visualize the next steps in your career, vision boarding is a powerful tool to turn dreams into plans. At Ampersand Studios, we’re all about helping you bring your goals to life in a space that inspires. Here’s how you can create your own vision board, either at your desk or during a group session.

1. Gather Your Supplies

A vision board is a physical or digital representation of your aspirations. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Poster board or corkboard
  • Magazines, printouts, or photos
  • Glue, tape, or push pins
  • Markers, stickers, or other decorative materials
  • Digital tools (if creating a Pinterest or Canva board)

2. Reflect on Your Goals

Take a moment to define what success looks like for you. Consider breaking down your vision into categories, such as:

  • Career: What’s your next big move?
  • Personal Growth: What skills or habits do you want to develop?
  • Wellness: How can you prioritize your health and happiness?
  • Community: What connections or collaborations are you seeking?

&Tip: At Ampersand Studios, our coworking space is ideal for brainstorming with Members over coffee or during a breakout in our Member’s Lounge.

3. Curate Your Inspiration

Flip through magazines or search online for visuals that resonate with your goals. Look for:

  • Images that evoke a feeling or aspiration (e.g., a vibrant workspace, a passport for travel goals, or wellness symbols).
  • Quotes or affirmations that motivate you.
  • Personal photos** that remind you of past successes or loved ones.

4. Design Your Board

This is where your creativity shines!

  • Arrange your pieces in themes or clusters based on your goal categories.
  • Leave white space for new ideas or goals that might emerge.
  • Add decorative touches to make the board uniquely yours.

5. Display Your Vision Board

Place your vision board where you’ll see it often:

  • At your Ampersand Studios desk or private office.
  • In your home workspace.
  • Digitally, as your laptop wallpaper or screensaver.

6. Activate Your Vision

A vision board is more than just pretty pictures—it’s a tool for action.

  • Review it daily or weekly to remind yourself of your priorities.
  • Set actionable steps for each goal represented.
  • Revisit and revise your board as your aspirations evolve.

&Tip: Looking to add an extra layer of accountability? Share your vision board with fellow Ampersand Members during a workshop or one-on-one over coffee. You might find a collaborator or cheerleader who can help bring your dreams closer to reality.

Vision boarding is a fun and creative way to visualize your dreams and make them tangible. Whether you’re designing your board solo or at our upcoming Ampersand Studios community vision boarding night in January, we’re here to cheer you on as you turn those visions into a reality.
